Individuals with cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, or other conditions unsuitable for high-altitude activities are not recommended to join. We suggest a medical check-up and appropriate physical training before departure.

What safety measures are in place during the trip? What are the qualifications of the team leader and the emergency plan?

Your safety is our top priority. We will provide experienced professional mountain guides and support teams who are familiar with the local environment and possess high-altitude first aid knowledge. Satellite phones, walkie-talkies, and other communication devices will be carried throughout the journey to ensure internal and external communication in emergencies. All team members are required to purchase high-coverage outdoor travel insurance, including high-altitude rescue. We will strictly adhere to high-altitude trekking principles, such as gradual ascent and adequate acclimatization. In case of emergencies, we will activate our emergency plan, including immediate evacuation and medical assistance, to ensure the safety of every team member.

What personal equipment do I need to prepare for the trek? Is equipment rental available?

You will need to prepare a set of personal equipment suitable for high-altitude trekking, including but not limited to: high-top waterproof hiking boots, warm down jacket, shell jacket and pants, fleece jacket, moisture-wicking base layers, trekking poles, headlamp, sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen), personal toiletries, and common medications. We will provide a detailed equipment list for your reference. Heavy luggage will be transported by yaks, so you only need to carry a light daypack. Currently, we do not offer equipment rental services. We recommend you prepare all required personal equipment in advance to ensure comfort and safety.

What are the accommodation and dining conditions like? Are there arrangements for special dietary needs?

In Lhasa and Shigatse, we will stay in comfortable hotels arranged by the club. During the trek, accommodation will primarily be in high-altitude camps, providing high-quality tents and moisture-proof mats to ensure a good rest even in the wilderness. For dining, we will provide balanced and nutritious meals, including breakfast, packed lunches, and dinner, to meet the energy demands of intense trekking. We will try to offer local specialties while also considering the preferences of the team members. If you have any special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, allergies), please inform us in advance when registering, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

How do I get to Lhasa for the meeting point? Is airport/station transfer service available?

The meeting point for this trip is Lhasa, Tibet. You can choose to arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) or Lhasa Railway Station by plane or train. We provide complimentary airport/station transfer services. Please inform us of your flight or train details in advance after confirming your itinerary so that we can arrange a dedicated vehicle for pick-up. Upon arrival in Lhasa, we will arrange your hotel check-in and our staff will assist you with the registration process.

When is the best season for trekking in Everest East Face? What if we encounter bad weather?

The best seasons for trekking in Everest East Face are typically April-May and September-October. During these periods, the weather is relatively stable, with less precipitation and high visibility, making it the best time to admire the Everest peaks. Summer (July-August) is the rainy season; although vegetation is lush, continuous rainfall may affect the trekking experience. Winter (November-March) is too cold for trekking. If bad weather is encountered during the trip, the team leader will adjust the route or camp based on the actual situation to ensure the safety of the team members. In extreme cases, parts of the itinerary may be canceled or an early evacuation may be initiated, with the safety of the team members as the highest priority.

Can I sign up as a solo traveler? Is there a single supplement or shared room arrangement?

Solo travelers are welcome to join our Everest East Face trekking trip! We understand the needs of solo travelers. For hotel accommodation in Lhasa and Shigatse, if you choose to occupy a single room, a single supplement will apply. If you are open to sharing a room with a same-gender participant, we will do our best to arrange it to avoid the single supplement. For camp accommodation during the trek, tents are typically double or multi-person, and we will make reasonable arrangements based on the actual situation to ensure each team member has a comfortable resting space.
