Question 1

What is the difficulty level of the Meili North Slope trek? What kind of physical fitness is required?

Accepted Answer

The Meili North Slope trek is rated as 'Advanced' difficulty, requiring a high level of physical fitness and endurance. The itinerary involves traversing alpine meadows, primeval forests, and challenging the Dian-Tibet Pass at an altitude of 5200 meters. We recommend regular physical training such as long-distance running and mountaineering before departure to ensure you can adapt to high-altitude environments and prolonged trekking. It's advisable to consult a doctor before your trip to confirm your suitability for high-altitude activities. Throughout the journey, we provide experienced professional guides and ample rest and supplies to help you adapt better.

Question 2

What safety measures are in place during the trip? Are the leaders professional?

Accepted Answer

Your safety is our top priority. We assign one experienced professional leader and support staff for every four participants, who are familiar with the local environment, high-altitude response, and emergency rescue. Comprehensive outdoor sports accident insurance is provided throughout the trip to ensure timely coverage in case of emergencies. Additionally, we are equipped with emergency communication devices and first-aid supplies, and have developed detailed emergency plans. All leaders hold relevant qualifications and have undergone rigorous professional training, possessing extensive experience in Meili North Slope trekking to effectively handle various unforeseen situations and ensure your travel safety.

Question 3

What are the accommodation and dining conditions like during the trek? Are there any special dietary arrangements?

Accepted Answer

For accommodation, comfortable hotel standard rooms are provided in Lijiang and Feilaisi (3 nights total) for ample rest before and after the trek. During the trek (5 nights), you will stay in high-altitude camps, with one tent per person and an egg crate sleeping pad provided to ensure basic comfort. For dining, we offer meals at city restaurants, breakfast and dinner at camps, and packed lunches for the day, striving to balance nutrition with local flavors. Camp meals are prepared by a professional culinary team, ensuring hygiene and deliciousness. If you have any special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, allergies), please inform us in advance when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Question 4

What personal equipment do I need to prepare? Is there an equipment rental service?

Accepted Answer

You will need to prepare personal trekking equipment, including hiking boots suitable for high-altitude trekking, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing, a backpack, headlamp, sleeping bag (comfort rating -10℃ to -15℃), sunglasses, sunscreen, personal toiletries, and common medications. To lighten your load, we provide a 150L duffel bag for luggage transport, and public equipment such as tents (one per person) and egg crate sleeping pads. Currently, we do not offer personal equipment rental services, so we recommend preparing all essential items in advance. If you have any questions about equipment selection, our professional team is happy to provide advice.

Question 5

What is the best season to travel? What if we encounter bad weather?

Accepted Answer

The best trekking seasons for Meili North Slope are typically spring and autumn, i.e., April-May and September-October. During these periods, the weather is relatively stable, with less precipitation and high visibility, making it ideal for enjoying the snow mountain scenery. Winter (November to March of the following year) may experience heavy snow blocking the mountains, while summer (June-August) has more rainfall and slippery trails. If bad weather is encountered during the trip, our professional leaders will prioritize the safety of the participants based on actual conditions, possibly adjusting the route, shortening the trekking distance, or even canceling parts of the itinerary in extreme cases. We will closely monitor weather forecasts and inform you in advance of any potential changes to ensure your safety and comfort.

Question 6

Can I join if I'm traveling alone? Is there a single supplement?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! We warmly welcome solo adventurers to join us. The Meili North Slope trek is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded friends. During city accommodations, if you choose a single occupancy hotel room, a single supplement will apply. However, in high-altitude camps, we provide individual tents for each participant, so there will be no additional single tent fee. We encourage solo participants to actively interact with team members and collectively enjoy this unique journey.

Question 7

What are the booking and cancellation policies?

Accepted Answer

Our booking process is simple and convenient, and you can register through official channels. Regarding the cancellation policy, given the special nature of outdoor adventure activities, we recommend that you carefully read the detailed terms when registering. Generally, canceling the trip a certain number of days in advance may result in a partial or full refund, but cancellations close to the departure date may incur higher penalties. Additional costs incurred due to personal reasons for withdrawal or travel restrictions due to local policies will be borne by the participant. We recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances. Please refer to the detailed instructions on the registration page or consult customer service for specific policies.
