The itinerary includes trekking above 4000 meters, and horse riding options are available to ease the burden. We suggest you engage in appropriate physical training before departure and carry common medications to better adapt to the plateau environment and enjoy the photography experience.

How will our safety be ensured during the Gongga secret realm expedition?

Your safety is our top priority. We will be accompanied by professional outdoor trekking leaders (ratio approximately 1:4) who have extensive experience in leading high-altitude tours and handling emergencies. Team common equipment includes walkie-talkies, first-aid kits, oximeters, etc., to ensure timely monitoring of physical conditions and communication. We have also purchased specialized outdoor sports accident insurance for you. In emergencies, we have comprehensive rescue plans, but please note that additional rescue costs incurred due to personal reasons or force majeure will be borne by the participants. Please strictly follow the leader's instructions to collectively maintain team safety.

What personal equipment do I need to prepare for this trip? Is equipment rental available?

Given the variable climate and high-altitude environment of the Western Sichuan Plateau, we recommend preparing a warm, windproof, and waterproof three-layer clothing system (hardshell jacket and pants, fleece jacket, thermal underwear), high-top waterproof hiking boots, trekking poles, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, thermos bottle, as well as personal toiletries and common medications. Photography enthusiasts should bring cameras, spare batteries, memory cards, etc. Currently, we do not offer equipment rental services, but we will provide a detailed equipment list for your reference. Horse riding options are available on some sections, and horse riding fees are at your own expense.

What are the accommodation and dining conditions during the trip? Are there any special dietary arrangements?

The itinerary includes 4 nights in standard hotel rooms and 1 night in a standard room at a Tibetan guesthouse in Yulongxi Village. Hotel accommodations will ensure comfort and cleanliness, while the Tibetan guesthouse offers a taste of local culture. Regarding dining, the team meals (simple Tibetan meals) indicated in the itinerary are considered complimentary and will feature local specialties. If you have special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, allergies), please inform us in advance when booking. We will do our best to accommodate, but due to limited resources in high-altitude areas, we may not be able to fully meet all personalized needs. We recommend bringing some supplementary food yourself.

What is the best season to travel for this Gongga photography trip? What if we encounter bad weather?

The Gongga region has its unique charm in all four seasons, but from a photography and trekking experience perspective, spring and autumn (April-May and September-October) are generally the best choices, with relatively stable weather, high visibility, and rich colors. Winter (November-March of the following year) offers blue ice and snowscapes, but temperatures are lower, requiring higher demands on equipment and physical fitness. If bad weather (such as heavy snow, landslides, etc.) is encountered during the trip, the leader will activate alternative plans or adjust the itinerary based on actual conditions and safety principles to ensure your safety. Please understand and cooperate with the leader's decisions; safety always comes first.

If I travel alone, do I need to pay a single supplement? Is the itinerary suitable for solo travelers?

Accepted Answer

If you are a solo traveler, we will typically arrange for you to share a room with a same-gender participant, without requiring an additional single supplement fee. However, if you prefer to have a private room throughout the trip, a single supplement fee will apply. This itinerary is very suitable for solo travelers, as we operate in small groups (recommended 2-8 people) with professional leaders providing full service. You can meet like-minded friends during the journey and share the magnificent beauty of Gongga and the joy of photography. We encourage independent exploration while also offering the warmth and support of a team.
