Question 1

What are the physical and experience requirements for the Siguniangshan Erfeng (Peak 2) climb? Who is it suitable for?

Accepted Answer

The Siguniangshan Erfeng climb is categorized as an entry-level high-altitude adventure, rated as 'beginner' difficulty. While no prior professional climbing experience is required, good physical fitness and endurance are essential. The itinerary includes a summit challenge at 5276 meters, long trekking distances, and an early morning start on summit day. We recommend participants aged 18-60, free from cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, respiratory issues, or other conditions unsuitable for high-altitude activities. Individuals with regular exercise habits will find it easier to adapt. Please undertake appropriate physical training, such as long-distance hiking or jogging, before departure to better acclimate to the high-altitude environment.

Question 2

What safety measures are in place during the trip? What are the qualifications of the leaders and guides?

Accepted Answer

Your safety is our top priority. The summit section features passes and fixed ropes, with professional guides providing full assistance to ensure your safety. Our leaders hold nationally recognized outdoor professional certifications, possessing extensive experience in leading high-altitude expeditions and handling emergencies. On summit day, we provide a 1:1 summit support service (1 guide per participant) to ensure each team member receives ample attention and assistance. Furthermore, the itinerary includes professional outdoor sports insurance and club liability insurance, and public equipment includes communication devices for emergencies. Please strictly follow the instructions of your leader and guides.

Question 3

What personal equipment do I need to prepare for the climb? Is there any equipment available for rent?

Accepted Answer

For your comfort and safety, we recommend preparing warm clothing (layered), waterproof and windproof outer shell, high-top hiking boots, hiking socks, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal toiletries, and any necessary personal medications. We provide essential equipment such as sleeping bags, trekking poles, and headlamps free of charge, significantly lowering the entry barrier for you. Large luggage will be transported by horses during the trek, so you only need to carry a small daypack with your daily essentials. If you have other specific equipment needs, please inquire in advance, and we may offer rental or purchase suggestions.

Question 4

What are the accommodation and dining conditions like? Are there arrangements for special dietary needs?

Accepted Answer

The itinerary includes 2 nights in standard hotel rooms in Chengdu, and 1 night in a standard hotel room in Siguniangshan Town, ensuring comfortable rest when not at camp. One night will be spent at the Erfeng Base Camp, offering multi-person shared sleeping arrangements or high-altitude tents, which is a unique experience of high-altitude expeditions. All meals are included in the cost, and we will provide meals that meet the energy demands of outdoor activities. If you have special dietary needs such as vegetarianism or allergies, please inform us in advance when booking. We will do our best to accommodate, but please understand that options may be limited due to the high-altitude environment.

Question 5

How will altitude sickness be managed during the trip? Is there professional medical support?

Accepted Answer

To help you acclimate to high altitude, our itinerary is designed with a gradual ascent, for example, transitioning from the Chengdu plains to the plateau mountains on the second day. Upon arrival in Siguniangshan Town, you will have ample time to adjust. Our leaders and guides will continuously monitor your physical condition and provide professional advice. We recommend consulting your doctor before departure to assess your suitability for high-altitude activities and to prepare altitude sickness medication as prescribed. The trip includes a public first-aid kit and communication devices, and leaders are trained in basic first aid. In case of an emergency, we will activate our emergency plan and utilize professional rescue resources.

Question 6

If I join alone, do I need to pay a single supplement? Will there be opportunities to meet other teammates during the trip?

Accepted Answer

If you register as a single participant and require a single room for the entire duration of hotel stays in Chengdu and Siguniangshan Town, a single supplement fee will apply. Please refer to the value-added services table for specific pricing. At the base camp, it's typically multi-person shared sleeping arrangements or high-altitude tents, so a single supplement does not apply there. Our recommended group size is 2-8 people, meaning you will have the opportunity to travel with outdoor enthusiasts from various places. During trekking and camp life, you will have ample time to interact with teammates, share experiences, and forge strong friendships. We encourage everyone to actively engage and collectively enjoy this unique adventure.

Question 7

What is the best season to travel? What happens if there is bad weather?

Accepted Answer

The best seasons for climbing Siguniangshan Erfeng are typically spring (April-June) and autumn (September-November), when the weather is relatively stable, scenery is pleasant, and visibility is good. Summer (July-August) sees more rainfall, but the vegetation is lush and green; winter (December-March) has deep snow, requiring more climbing experience and specialized equipment. We closely monitor weather forecasts. In case of unavoidable severe weather (e.g., heavy snow, mudslides), to ensure your safety, the itinerary may be adjusted, postponed, or canceled. Specific handling will be discussed with you based on contract terms and actual conditions to protect your rights.
